If I buy land on the Moon and never go there, can I rent it out?

Nope, owning lunar land is about as real as a moon unicorn, so renting it out stays science fiction.

Buying land on the Moon sounds cool until you realize no government officially recognizes private property there. The 1967 Outer Space Treaty bans ownership claims, which means your 'land' is no more valid than a souvenir sticker. Renting it out? Unless tenants are aliens paying in moon dust, you’re out of luck. So, renting lunar land on Earth practically doesn’t exist — science fiction is cheaper.
